Donna Brunet has a M.S. in Wildlife from the University of Missouri where she began taking photographs of butterflies for her research project. She had been a serious photographer as an undergraduate, but had never taken macro photos before. She quickly fell in love with macro photography and has developed her talent for capturing extraordinarily detailed images of insects in their natural environment. Donna uses fill flash with manual camera settings for ambient light, making her image backgrounds fade out of focus, creating light, airy colors that artistically showcase the beauty of each individual insect.
