Many butterflies have declined in abundance during recent decades, and their conservation engenders concern and effort in many parts of the world. This book is a broad survey of the science of butterfly conservation. It discusses the causes of butterfly decline and - within the context of a summary of butterfly biology and using examples from several countries - illustrates how attempts are now in progress to conserve particular butterfly species.
